- Attendance is a little down on term 1 of 2012. (81.7% compared to 83.5% in term 1) It is usual for term 1 to be the highest term for attendance and the winter terms to be the worst so a drop was expected. Actually, a drop of only 2% is better than expected.
- A more important comparison is with term 2 of last year. 81.7% attendance (18.3% absent) compares with 80.7% (19.3% absent) for term 2 of 2011.
- 18.3% absent however still equates to about 43 pupils absent each day, but that compares to 60 pupils per day for term 2 of last year.
- 17 children attended every day this term and 92 attended for more than 90% of the time.
- We had 13 pupils who had attendance figures of below 75%. This is an improvement over term 1. Of those pupils, 6 had genuine reasons such as hospitalisation.
- Mondays and Fridays were the days with highest absence with 18% and 20% respectively. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were 13-14%
- We are unlikely to achieve our goal of a whole school attendance rate of 85% over the year but we should improve on 2011

Of interest, the bi-lingual classes have a higher average at 87% than general classes at 80%. 13% absence compared to 20% absence would be considered significant. | Manawanui | 84% | 1786 / 2126 | NA | 14 | Rangimarie | 84% | 2364 / 2804 | NA | 17 | Rm 1 | 72% | 1182 / 1634 | NA | 13 | Rm 2 | 69% | 1484 / 2160 | NA | 12 | Rm 5 | 82% | 2394 / 2922 | NA | 17 | Rm 6 | 82% | 2508 / 3062 | NA | 18 | Rm12 | 87% | 2972 / 3422 | NA | 21 | Rm14 | 81% | 2606 / 3208 | NA | 18 | Rm15 | 84% | 3478 / 4120 | NA | 24 | Tumanako | 90% | 4324 / 4814 | NA | 27 | Form | | Number of pupils | | Y1 | 74% | 3502 / 4734 | 67% | 34 | As usual, pupils attend more regularly as they get older. | Y2 | 78% | 7068 / 9040 | 83% | 55 | Y3 | 82% | 4556 / 5582 | 82% | 33 | Y4 | 83% | 5400 / 6496 | 90% | 40 | Y5 | 86% | 5762 / 6712 | 91% | 40 | Y6 | 87% | 4916 / 5620 | 85% | 34 | Y7 | 81% | 140 / 172 | NA | 1 |
